Quaker Gardens on Chequer Street is the location of the remaining fragment of the old Quaker burial ground called Checker Ally. Today, the larger Bunhill Fields Burial Ground is nearby.

The location was actually Checker Alley, but spelt as Ally in the old records.

Chequer Alley - (various descriptions over time): On the west side of Old Bailey at the upper end of Black and White Court. In Farringdon Ward Without. On the west side of Bishopsgate Street. In Bishops-gate Ward Without. In Old Bethlem.

First recorded mention : "Checker Alley," 1559-60 Named after a tenement called the "Chekker" which belonged to the new hospital of St Mary without Bishopsgate in the parish of St. Botolph.The site is now occupied by Broad Street Station.
