The Soards' New Orleans Directory for 1885 shows Marie Grenot as the widow of Charles. At that time, she was living with her stepson, Charles Grenot (son of Charles Grenot & Octavie Deruize).

Marie married Charles Washington Grenaut on 16 Mar 1857 in New Orleans, Orleans Parish, LA. Charles (son of Francois Casimir Grenot and Seraphine Mercier) was born est 1814 in LA; died in Betw 1866-1870. [Group Sheet]

Note: Marie lives with stepson, Charles, at 358 St. Philip in 1885. Also, her son, Joseph, died earlier just up the street at 342 St. Philip in 1878.
