Notes |
- "Ephraim and Anna (Mullins) Pauley lived in Kanawha County before the organization of Lincoln County. Ephraim came from Franklin Count, Virginia to Charleston, Kanawha County before the War of 1812, in which he volunteered to serve, but peace came before he went to the field. He was married in 1818 and in 1823 built the first mill on Fuquas Creek, it have been a tub-whell mill. Here he raised a large family and died at a good old age." - West Virginia Heritage Encyclopedia, suppl. Vol. 7, pp.121-122
