The reasons assigned were his poverty and imprisonment for debt; that 1,000 marks had been previously given to him, on condition of his surrendering his office, and that, notwithstanding the receipt of the money, he had refused to resign. He had a residence at Tottenham, where, in October 1581, he entertained Mr. Recorder Fleetwood, when that officer was inquiring into a Riot on the River Lea. His daughter Dorcas married Sir Julius C
