- • Jackson's birth year is taken from his Summers Co, WV death certificate. Earlier censuses all agree his birth year is 1871. By the 1930 census however, he is suddenly shown as being 5 years older, as is also reflected on his death certificate and gravestone (with a birth year of 1866). The children in the censuses indicate (but do not prove) that it is the same "Jackson" in each census presented.
• Also his first name as Stonewall is from his death certificate document. Other documents show him as Jackson or as General J., including the 1910 census and his 1891 marriage record.
