- Nancy might be Nancy with maiden name Adkins, as noted in references to Nancy as mother in birth of a child, and given as Nancy Adkins (a record which normally gives the mother's maiden name). I cannot find sources for this Nancy being a descendant of the Lilly family. Complicating matters further, some are reporting this Nancy Lilly, daughter of Thomas Lilly and Rosanna Meador, as born in 1798 and marrying John Pittman and having many Pittman children. Currently, it is looking more like this union between Robert Adkins and Nancy Lilly might be a presumed relationship passed down.
