Couch, Jonathan, April 2, 1777, he was appointed on a committee of nine to take care of the families of soldiers in
the service of the country.

Oliver Couch History_1 gen. - Oliver Couch - a native of Wolverton, Lincolnshire, England, whose father kept a
hotel then called Lincoln's Inn, came to America in the ship Live Oak, Nov. 16, 1636.__In 1640 he settled in
Saybrook or Lyme, Connecticut. He had two brothers, Henry and John, who came with him. Oliver, our ancestor,
had a son named:__2d gen. Henry, who had a son_3d " Oliver - Oliver's son_4th " Johnathan had six children
(his wife was Eunice) who were:_5th gen. Joseph_Eli_Lucy (underscored in text)_Eunice_Hildah_Mary__Eli
married Edna Parsons. They had seven children.__Lucy married Joseph Frost 4th September 19, 1781. The
names of their 10 children are given in the Frost History.
Jonathan married Eunice GRIFFIN on 15 Aug 1759 in Redding, Fairfield Co, CT. Eunice (daughter of John Griffin and Sarah Nash) was christened on 22 Oct 1738. [Group Sheet]

13. | Hiram Larry COUCH (10.Eli3, 5.Eli2, 1.Jonathan1) was born on 10 Oct 1823 in Catherine, Schuyler Co, NY. Notes:
Military Service: BET 1861 AND 1864 Civil War in Co. K 3rd NY Infantry
Note: Hiram L. COUCH learned the molder's trade and worked in a foundry. Then he joined the army and served in the Civil War in Co. K 3rd NY Infantry, enlisting in April 1861. Hiram was promoted to Captain on merit at Pawnee Landing, Folly Island, SC. On the 16th May 1864 he was shot badly in the arm and it was amputated. He was in hospital for 7 months or more and was eventually discharged due to ill health. He belonged to several local lodges. Hiram never married. [Census info shows that he lived in the family home with his parents, along with the Giles PLATT family for many years.]
